The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that a deep depression over the northeast Arabian Sea is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm over the next 36 hours, posing potential risks to coastal regions of India and Pakistan.
Current Status of the System
As of Friday, the deep depression is moving west-northwest at 13 kmph and is centered approximately:

240 km west-southwest of Dwarka

270 km west of Porbandar

280 km southwest of Naliya

400 km south of Karachi, Pakistan
The system is likely to continue moving west-northwest, eventually shifting westward and then west-southwest. It would strengthen further into a severe cyclonic storm over the next 24 hours.

Northeast Arabian Sea & adjoining northwest Arabian Sea: Squally winds currently at 55-65 kmph, gusting to 75 kmph, expected to intensify to 75-85 kmph (gusting 95 kmph) by the evening of October 3 and further to 100-110 kmph (gusting 125 kmph) from the evening of October 4 to morning of October 6.

Central Arabian Sea: Winds of 55-65 kmph gusting to 65 kmph, expected to increase to 65-75 kmph (gusting 85 kmph) by the evening of October 4, and later reach 100-110 kmph (gusting 125 kmph) from evening of October 4 to evening of October 5.

Along Gujarat–North Maharashtra Coast: Winds of 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely from October 3 to 5.
