New Delhi: The BCCI office-bearers including President Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah will not be present for the World Test Championship Final (WTC), sources informed on Tuesday.

According to officials, due to the strict quarantine rules in England, non-playing members will not be allowed to be present at the stadium.

Since Ganguly and Shah are not a part of the playing group, they would have had to undergo a ten-day hard quarantine following their entry into the country. The team rules wouldn’t have been applicable as far as the president and secretary is concerned, officials said.

The Indian Men’s team will arrive in the UK on June 3, 2021, via a charter flight carrying evidence of a negative PCR Test and regular tests will be conducted during the period of isolation.

Notably, India and New Zealand will play the inaugural World Test Championship final on June 18 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.
