The Odisha Crime Branch has intensified its investigation into the assassination of former Minister Naba Das by summoning his daughter, Dipali Das, and son, Bishal Das, for questioning in the coming week.
Notices have been issued to both, requesting their presence to discuss any concerns they may have regarding the ongoing probe. This development follows Dipali’s earlier appeal for the case to be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Despite the passage of time, the Crime Branch has yet to file a chargesheet in connection with the case.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vinaytosh Mishra has confirmed that the investigation remains active. Dipali had previously urged the state government to consider a CBI inquiry, expressing dissatisfaction with the current progress. In response, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan advised that a formal written request be submitted to facilitate any potential transfer of the case to the CBI.
The case has seen recent developments, including the decision to reopen the investigation into the mysterious death of Naba Das’ cook, which may have potential links to the minister’s murder.
The assassination of Naba Das has attracted significant public attention, with many calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure justice is served.
