Odisha reaffirmed its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and skill development as Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister for Skill Development & Technical Education, felicitated successful entrepreneurs at a special event held at the World Skill Center, Bhubaneswar.
The programme spotlighted the achievements of young entrepreneurs who have transformed their skills into thriving enterprises, contributing to the state’s socio-economic progress. Addressing the gathering, the Minister praised the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, under whose guidance Odisha has embraced skill development and entrepreneurship as twin engines of transformation.
“Skill development empowers our youth with employable capabilities, while entrepreneurship enables them to become job creators. Both are central to building a Viksit and Samrudha Odisha,” said Shri Swain.

- Over 10,000 entrepreneurs nurtured under the Entrepreneurship Development Programme of the World Skill Center.
- 70% of beneficiaries are women, reflecting inclusive growth.
- 1,000+ enterprises established with structured mentorship, credit support, and market facilitation.
- Seed funding of Rs 1 lakh each awarded to selected entrepreneurs under the Nano Unicorn Scheme.
- Launch of a Coffee Table Book featuring 100 inspiring entrepreneurial journeys from across Odisha.
The event was graced by Ms. Rashmita Panda, Director, Skill Development & Employment-cum-CEO, World Skill Center, and Mr. Pinaki Pattnaik, COO, World Skill Center, along with other senior officials.
