The Odisha Legislative Assembly witnessed intense uproar today, leading to its adjournment until 4 PM.
From the start of the Question Hour, opposition members created a ruckus over allegations that the powers of Panchayat representatives were being curtailed.
Members of the BJD staged noisy protests beneath the Speaker’s podium, shouting slogans and waving placards. Meanwhile, Congress legislators accused the ruling party of failing to run the House effectively and joined the protest.
Despite repeated appeals from the Speaker for order, the opposition continued its disruption, forcing the House to be adjourned. The session lasted only seven minutes before the Speaker announced the adjournment.
