Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday paid his last respects to the late legendary Odia film actor Uttam Mohanty.
Majhi visited Mohanty’s residence in Bhubaneswar’s Jagannath Vihar, where a large crowd, including family members, fans, and members of the Ollywood fraternity, gathered to honor the actor’s memory.
In his tribute, CM Majhi highlighted Uttam Mohanty’s unparalleled contributions to the Odia film industry, noting that he was an undisputed hero for over two decades.
Majhi emphasized that Mohanty, who acted in many Odia, Bengali, and Hindi films, played a pivotal role in elevating Odia cinema to new heights. The Chief Minister described Mohanty’s passing as an irreparable loss to the Odia art world and extended his condolences to the bereaved family, praying for the actor’s eternal peace.
