The Odisha government has announced plans to construct a new Lok Seva Bhawan in the state capital to address the growing needs of its administrative infrastructure.
The decision was revealed by Public Works Department Minister Prithviraj Harichandan in response to a question raised by BJD MLA Subhasini Jena during a session in the Odisha Legislative Assembly on Saturday.
According to Minister Harichandan, the Bridge and Construction Corporation has been tasked with preparing the master plan for the new building. Once the master plan is approved, the estimated cost for the project will be determined.
The existing Lok Seva Bhawan, which is 68 years old, faces significant challenges, including severe parking issues. The new facility aims to resolve these problems while providing a modern and efficient administrative hub for the state government.
The announcement marks a significant step toward upgrading Odisha’s administrative infrastructure, ensuring better facilities for government operations and public services. Further details regarding the project timeline and design are expected once the master plan is finalised.
