The long-awaited queue system for darshan, known as Dhadi Darshan, at Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will begin soon, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan announced on Sunday.
Speaking during his visit to Angul, the Minister confirmed that the process of relocating the temple’s Hundi (donation boxes) has already started after obtaining the necessary approvals.
“The Dhadi Darshan process will begin within seven days of the Hundi’s complete shifting. The relocation has already commenced, and the new system will be rolled out thereafter,” Harichandan said.
The new queue-based arrangement is expected to streamline darshan, reduce overcrowding, and ensure a safer and more orderly experience for devotees. Temple management anticipates that crowd control, security, and the spiritual ambience will significantly improve.
During his visit, Harichandan also reviewed ongoing projects in Angul district, many of which had faced delays. He instructed officials to complete all pending works within revised deadlines.

Rural Roads: Construction of 25 km of rural roads in each Assembly segment this year, with MLAs tasked to identify the most dilapidated stretches.

Urban Repairs: Damaged roads in cities and towns to be repaired before Durga Puja, with work targeted for completion by September 22.
The Minister emphasised timely completion and strict monitoring of infrastructure projects to benefit local residents.
