In a proud moment for Odisha, two distinguished educators—Basanta Kumar Rana from Malkangiri district and Tarun Kumar Das from Koraput—have been conferred with the prestigious National Teacher Award for their exceptional service in the field of education.
Basanta Kumar Rana, serving at Kandel Upper Primary School in Malkangiri, and Tarun Kumar Das, working at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Koraput, were honored today at a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The President of India presented the awards, which included a cash prize of rs 50,000 and a certificate of recognition.
The event was graced by the President Droupadi Murmu, the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Minister of State for Education, and the Education Secretary of India. On the eve of the award ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm wishes to all teachers across the country, acknowledging their vital role in shaping the nation.
Following the ceremony, congratulatory messages poured in from across the state. Malkangiri District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay praised the awardees for bringing honor to the district and the state. Chittaranjan Panigrahi, District Education Officer of Malkangiri, also attended the event in Delhi and personally extended his best wishes to the honored teachers.
