The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has announced fresh appointments to strengthen its youth and student wings, marking a strategic shift in leadership.
In a series of office orders issued on August 26, 2025, BJD President Naveen Patnaik has appointed new office bearers to key positions within the party’s youth and student organisations.
Chinmaya Sahu has been appointed as the President of Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD), effective immediately. This move underscores the party’s focus on energising its youth leadership. Additionally, four new General Secretaries for Youth Affairs were named: Byomakesh Ray (Senior General Secretary), Raeindra Kumar Sahoo, Amaresh Patri, and Sanjit Mohanty.
In a parallel development, Ipsita Sahu has been appointed as the President of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD). The student wing also saw the appointment of four new General Secretaries for Students Affairs: Debesh Acharya (Senior General Secretary), Dibya Ranjan Tripathy, Subhasis Khuntia, and Souvic Biswal.
These appointments reflect BJD’s commitment to nurturing young talent and reinforcing its grassroots presence ahead of future political challenges.
