The Odisha Government has officially nominated ten distinguished individuals to the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee under the Shree Jagannath Temple Act, 1954.
The announcement, made via notification No. 1AW-14.1TA-MISC-0020-102.4, reflects a blend of spiritual representation and professional acumen aimed at enhancing the governance of the revered temple.
Among the newly appointed members are:
- Dr. Siddheswar Mohapatra, representing Mukti Mandap
- Shri Krushna Chandra (Tuku) Samantray, along with Shri Madhusudan Singhari, Shri Jagannath Pusupanda, Shri Ramesh Dasmohapatra, and Shri Ramnarayan Chochlikar, representing the Sevak community
- Shri Raghubir Das Maharaj, representing Mathas and religious institutions
- Dr. Girish Chandra Murmu, former Comptroller and Auditor General of India
- Shri A.K. Sabat, Chartered Accountant
- Shri Mahesh Kumar Sahoo, a respected figure from Angul district
The nominations were made in accordance with Section 6(1) of the Act, reinforcing the temple’s commitment to inclusive representation and efficient administration.
The notification, issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government, has been forwarded to the Secretariat Branch Press for publication in an extraordinary issue of the Odisha Gazette.
