Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Sekhawat has reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to establishing Odisha’s unique flavours in the global market, urging the state to promote its tourism assets aggressively at national and international forums.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 6th Odisha Travel Bazaar (OTB) in Bhubaneswar, Sekhawat emphasized the importance of enhancing tourism infrastructure and experiences to achieve this goal. Organized by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the three-day event aims to showcase Odisha’s diverse tourism offerings and foster business collaborations among stakeholders worldwide.

“Sky is the limit for tourism potential in India. Amidst tough competition among states, Odisha boasts mountains, jungles, wildlife, beautiful beaches, adventure, architecture, history, and culture. These unique features must be promoted and marketed properly,” the Union Minister remarked.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted the significance of private sector participation in tourism, stating, “To realize Odisha’s tourism potential, it is time to develop new ideas, and we welcome the private sector to do business here. Tourism growth will catalyze increased employment opportunities, stimulate economic growth, and propel Odisha towards becoming a developed state.”

The event underscores the state’s commitment to sustainable tourism development, with initiatives to create a tourism ecosystem that benefits local communities, preserves cultural heritage, and protects the environment.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja underscored the role of tourism in economic development, stressing the importance of private sector investment and the government’s role in providing infrastructure and policy support.

Odisha Travel Bazaar 2025 features over 3,000 pre-scheduled B2B meetings between 70 sellers from Odisha’s tourism sector and domestic and international tour operators. The event also includes familiarization trips to key destinations, showcasing Odisha’s unique attractions.
