India marked a significant advancement in its tactical defence capability with the successful test-fire of the short-range surface-to-surface missile, Pralay-6, at 9:35 AM from Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast.
Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Pralay-6 is designed for precision targeting with an effective strike range of 150 to 500 kilometres. The missile is equipped with an advanced navigation system and high-accuracy guidance technology, enabling precision hits on surface-based targets.
The successful launch not only strengthens India’s short-range strike capability but also signifies a major leap in indigenous missile technology. Defence analysts view Pralay-6 as a crucial asset for battlefield superiority, particularly in tactical missions requiring rapid deployment and pinpoint precision.
The launch was observed and coordinated by key defence officials and scientists, marking another milestone in India’s journey toward self-reliant strategic defence infrastructure.
