Bhubaneswar: Due to the anticipated rise in maximum temperature and the presence of high humidity in the atmosphere, hot & humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail across Odisha from 2 to 6 April, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday in its evening weather forecast today.
The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre said that the north-south trough from east Bihar to north Bay of Bengal across Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists, the IMD added.
The weather agency has advised people to take precautionary measures for hot & humid weather conditions while going outside during peak hours of the day i.e., between 11 am and 3 pm.
The maximum day temperature is very likely to fall by 3-4 °C during the next 24 hours and rise by 4-5 °C at many places in the subsequent two days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha. Also, there will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 2 days and will gradually rise by 2-3 °C at many places in the subsequent 3 days over the districts of Odisha, the IMD regional centre here said.
