New Delhi: Google celebrated Valentine’s Day this year with a quirky scientific doodle and encouraged people to make bonds through chemistry and discover their own chemical element avatar.
Upon clicking on Wednesday’s doodle, a new page, Chemistry CuPd, opens with options of taking a quiz to find one’s chemical element. One can also choose whatever element they want from a list. After discovering your very own personality element through some questions, you can also start bonding with other elements like hydrogen, sodium, nitrogen, etc., by swiping left. Just like online dating.
Now, after you’ve swiped left on a certain element, a bond is formed and then the player is encouraged to combine. The player can make bonds with all the 18 elements, each with their own personality traits. Like dating apps, their is a bio which lists everything about an element and let’s you make an informed decision about your bond.
“Making diatomic bonds on Valentine’s Day. Diatomic molecules are made from a bond between two atoms. Sometimes it’s a bond between the same element like H2 (hydrogen gas) and sometimes it’s two different elements, like HCl (hydrogen chloride), read Google’s explanation about the interactive doodle.
“Are you made of beryllium, gold, and titanium? Because you’re BeAuTi-ful! Today’s interactive game Doodle celebrates Valentine’s Day with a scientific spin — it’s all about the chemistry. There’s no stronger bond than love, especially when the chemistry is just right. Happy Valentine’s Day!” read an excerpt from the blog.
