In a move aimed at enhancing public transport and promoting tourism, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has officially launched a new double-decker Ama Bus service between Bhubaneswar and Puri starting July 9, 2025.
The service, designated as Route No. 50, will operate from Bhubaneswar Railway Station to Puri Bus Stand, offering passengers a scenic and convenient travel option along a key intercity corridor.
The route includes prominent stoppages such as Raj Mahal Square, State Museum, Ravi Talkies, Dhauli Square, Uttara Square, Pipili Bypass, Satasankha, Sakhigopal, Chandanpur, Malatipatpur, Athar Nala, and Medical Chhak. These stops were selected to serve both daily commuters and tourists, with the bus route covering a unique mix of urban zones, heritage landmarks like Dhauli, artisan hubs such as Pipili, and sacred destinations like Sakhigopal.
The introduction of double-decker buses on this route is expected to ease congestion and provide panoramic views for travelers, adding value to the overall commuting experience. CRUT has confirmed that the updated Ama Bus schedule will be made available on its official website and mobile application for real-time tracking and passenger convenience.
