India delivered its best-ever performance at the second World Boxing Cup, securing an impressive 11 medals, including three gold, five silver, and three bronze.

The campaign was spearheaded by the stellar performances of Sakshi (54kg), Jaismine (57kg), and Nupur (+80kg), who each clinched gold in their respective categories.

Sakshi dominated USA’s Yosline Perez with speed and combination punches, winning unanimously in the 54kg final. Jaismine, showcasing composure and tactical precision, edged past Brazil’s Jucielen Cequeira Romeu 4:1 in the 57kg category, using her reach advantage effectively in the final round. Nupur, after a shaky start against Kazakhstan’s Yeldana Talipova, bounced back strongly to win 5:0 in the 80+kg division.

Among other finalists, Jugnoo (85kg), Pooja Rani (80kg), Hitesh Gulia (70kg), Abhinash Jamwal (65kg), and Meenakshi (48kg) settled for silver after hard-fought bouts. Jugnoo and Pooja lost 0:5, while Meenakshi narrowly missed gold with a 3:2 verdict.

Bronze medals went to Sanju (60kg), Nikhil Dubey (75kg), and Narender (90+kg).

The strong showing by Indian boxers marked a milestone performance for the country, underscoring its growing dominance in international boxing. The contingent displayed a mix of aggression, strategic discipline, and resilience, leaving a mark on the global stage.
