Lord Jagannath is granting divine darshan to devotees at the Adapa Mandap inside the Shri Gundicha Temple in Puri. Following the completion of the morning rituals (Nitikanthi) on Monday, the Adapa Darshan commenced, drawing thousands of devotees.
Pilgrims enter through the Singhadwar (Lion’s Gate) and exit via the Nakachana Gate, with elaborate arrangements by the police administration to ensure a disciplined and smooth experience.
Senior police officers and forces have been deployed inside the temple to manage the crowd and maintain order. On Sunday, the Adapa Pahandi (procession of the deities to the Adapa Mandap) was conducted with great reverence.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena were in attendance. They closely monitored the arrangements to ensure the procession was carried out seamlessly.
Lakhs of devotees eagerly await the sacred Adapa Abhada, the prasad offered during Lord Jagannath’s stay at the Gundicha Temple. This prasad holds immense spiritual significance, believed to bring peace to the souls of ancestors when offered during Brahmin feasts.
The administration has strengthened security measures to facilitate orderly darshan, ensuring the safety and convenience of devotees.
Puri SP Pinak Mishra stated, “Following the Adapa Pahandi, Lord Jagannath is now positioned at the Adapa Mandap for darshan. Comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure a disciplined experience. Devotees enter through the Singhadwar and exit via the Nakachana Gate, with experienced officers stationed at key locations to manage crowds. With the blessings of Mahaprabhu and the cooperation of devotees, we are confident that all proceedings will be conducted smoothly. Discussions with servitors are ongoing to address any challenges and ensure the smooth execution of rituals and darshan.”
The Adapa Darshan is a significant event during the Rath Yatra festival, attracting devotees from across the country who seek the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra at the Gundicha Temple, regarded as the Lord’s aunt’s abode.
