With the sacred Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath just around the corner, the Puri Police have rolled out a comprehensive traffic advisory to manage the surge in pilgrims and vehicles expected in the city.
The directive, aimed at ensuring public safety and orderly conduct of the festival, details designated routes and parking zones for all categories of vehicles.
Traffic Advisory for Four-Wheelers:
Vehicles from the Brahmagiri side will proceed via Mangalaghat and Sterling Chhaka to park near Sterling. Similarly, those from Bhubaneswar will follow the Malatipatapur route to Talabania, using designated lots like OLA Guest House, ITI College, and Indoor Stadium. LMVs from Konark will also use Talabania via Balighai and Baidas Nagar.
Two-Wheeler Instructions:
Two-wheelers arriving from Brahmagiri and Bhubaneswar will be allowed up to Old Jagannath Ballav parking on a first-come, first-served basis. Overflow will be diverted to Matitota Helipad and Playground. Konark-bound riders will use routes ending near the Blue Flag Beach and Hotel Neelachal Ashok.
Tourist Bus Regulations:
Tourist buses from Brahmagiri, Bhubaneswar, and Konark have been assigned parking at Flourish India, Malatipatapur, and Swami Narayan Temple, respectively, with return trips mandated on the same route to avoid congestion.
Shuttle Services:
To enhance accessibility, shuttle autorickshaws from various sides, including Talabania, Malatipatapur, and Brahmagiri, have been authorised up to key drop zones like Ghoda Bazar and Sterling. Their movement will follow clearly designated loops to maintain traffic flow.
With lakhs expected to descend upon the holy city, this proactive traffic framework is crucial in maintaining a safe and spiritually enriching experience for all attendees. The Puri Police urge the public to follow instructions diligently and cooperate with the ground personnel during the event.
