Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant added another feather to his cap as he etched his name into cricketing history during the first Test against England at Headingley.
By registering his seventh Test hundred, Pant has now surpassed MS Dhoni’s record for the most centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper in Test cricket.
Starting Day 2 on an overnight score of 65, Pant wasted no time asserting dominance. His aggressive strokeplay was on full display as he dispatched England’s seamers and spinners alike, reaching the milestone with a towering six off Shoaib Bashir. The century celebration—a signature backflip—sparked jubilation among Indian fans.
Pant’s seventh century came in just his 44th Test, outpacing Dhoni’s six tons achieved across 90 matches. His latest performance also saw him cross the 3000-run mark in Test cricket, further solidifying his place among modern greats.
