Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chanda Patra had a narrow escape on Friday morning after his vehicle was involved in an accident at Sandhapur Square under Baranga police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 8:00–8:30 AM when Patra was returning to Bhubaneswar from Athagarh. His scheduled event in Angul had been cancelled.
While overtaking, a truck reportedly rammed into the minister’s car, damaging the right side of the bumper. Fortunately, no one was injured in the mishap.
Barang police swiftly arrived at the scene, arranging another vehicle to transport the minister safely to his destination.
Authorities have seized the truck, and the driver has been detained for questioning. Further investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
