In a glittering finale to the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, Opal Suchata of Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025, succeeding Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic at a star-studded event held in Hyderabad, India.
Opal, who captivated judges and audiences alike with her poise and purpose, wore a gown symbolizing resilience, healing, and transformation, inspired by her campaign “Opal For HER.” She described the gown as representing women who “choose hope over fear,” with opal-like florals and Swarovski crystals echoing compassion and inner strength.
The event marked India’s second consecutive time hosting the prestigious international pageant, following the successful 71st edition in Mumbai.
While Thailand celebrated a landmark victory, India’s representative Nandini Gupta advanced to the Top 40, having earned her spot through the fast-track selection. However, she fell short of entering the Top 8 finalists, a disappointment for Indian fans hoping for another home victory.
Opal’s victory extends Thailand’s growing global recognition in international pageantry and adds to the country’s long-standing cultural emphasis on grace and inner strength.
Opal’s heartfelt message, fashion symbolism, and advocacy for women’s resilience made her a standout in one of the most competitive lineups in recent years.
