Indian athletes Parul Chaudhary and Vithya Ramraj made the nation proud with their medal-winning performances at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 in Gumi, South Korea.
Parul secured a silver medal in the women’s 5000m event, clocking 15:15.33s, finishing behind Kazakhstan’s Norah Jeruto Tanui (14:58.71s). Japan’s Yuma Yamamoto claimed bronze with a timing of 15:16.86s.
In the women’s 400m hurdles, Tamil Nadu’s Vithya Ramraj clinched bronze, finishing in 56.46s behind China’s Mo Jiadie and Bahrain’s Oluwakemi Mujidat Adekoya.
India’s medal tally grew further with Pooja’s bronze in the women’s 800m, setting a personal best of 2:01.89s. The women’s 4x100m relay team also bagged a silver, clocking a season’s best timing of 43.86s, comprising Srabani Nanda, Abhinaya Rajarajan, Sneha SS, and Nithya Gandhe.
With a commendable haul of medals, India wrapped up its campaign on a high note at the continental event.
