Investigative agencies have uncovered that Haryana-based travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan, received sponsorships from Wego, a UAE-based travel company operating in Pakistan.

Multiple videos on her YouTube channel, “Travel with Jo,” were backed by the firm, which holds a valid travel agency license in Pakistan and accreditation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Authorities are delving deeper into Malhotra’s connections after revelations that she was in contact with Pakistani intelligence operatives during India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor. Sources indicate that she was introduced to these operatives by Danish, a former Pakistan High Commission official expelled earlier this month for suspected intelligence activities.

Malhotra, who boasts over 400,000 YouTube subscribers and 132,000 Instagram followers, reportedly believed her visits to Pakistan would enhance her online popularity. While investigators acknowledge that she lacks direct links to terror outfits, they suspect she was influenced by financial incentives and the allure of a lavish lifestyle.

This latest development adds another layer to India’s scrutiny of espionage activities, raising concerns over how influencers can be used to manipulate sensitive information. Authorities are continuing their investigation into Malhotra’s financial transactions and associations.
