A man was brutally attacked and robbed by a group of miscreants near Sakeni village in Nayagarh district on Tuesday.

The assailants, reportedly numbering around eight, intercepted the victim, assaulted him with blades, looted his belongings, and torched his vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The victim, identified as Jatia Behera from Khandapada village, was en route to Bhanjanagar for work when the attack took place. Locals discovered him injured and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where his condition is now reported to be stable.

Following a formal complaint, police have launched an investigation and are conducting search operations to track down the culprits. Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
