The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has assembled a high-level committee to investigate the failure of the PSLV-C61 rocket, which was meant to deploy the Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-09) into its intended orbit.
The mission, launched from Sriharikota, encountered an anomaly in its third stage, leading to an unsuccessful deployment.
ISRO Chairman V Narayanan confirmed that extensive discussions have taken place to determine the cause of the failure. He stated that while the first two stages performed as expected, the third stage suffered a drop in chamber pressure, preventing mission success.
Despite the setback, ISRO remains optimistic about upcoming launches and has maintained its commitment to achieving one mission per month for the remainder of the year. The space agency is expected to release a detailed report once the investigation concludes.
