Bhubaneswar: Retired IRPS officer Alka Arora Misra has been recently appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of World Skill Center (WSC) by the Odisha government.
According to an official notification, Misra has been appointed for a period of three years and will be entitled to get a fixed monthly remuneration arrived at by deducting regular pension from the salary drawn at the time of her retirement.
She will also be entitled to avail benefits and other allowances at par with the level at which she superannuated from Government of lndia.
Misra is the wife of corporate honcho Santrupt Misra, who is currently Director (Group Human Resources), Group Director, Birla Carbon, and Director, Chemicals, of Aditya Birla group.
In 2021, the state government appointed Santrupt to lead the contentious Ekamra Kshetra heritage project advisory council. Notably, the Misras would essentially follow Subrota and Sasmita Bagchi as the second “power couple” to get duties from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
While his wife Susmita, a well-known author, is in charge of the Mo School programme in the state, Subroto Bagchi, a co-founder of Mindtree, is the chairman of the Odisha Skill Development Authority.
