The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan concluded their scheduled talks today, focusing on military de-escalation and regional security concerns.

Sources indicate that both sides reaffirmed commitments to maintaining the ceasefire agreement while addressing key operational challenges along the Line of Control (LoC).

The meeting, conducted via a hotline, was between Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, India’s DGMO, and Major General Kashif Abdullah, Pakistan’s DGMO. Sources revealed that Pakistan assured India that its military would not violate the ceasefire agreement. The discussions reportedly indicated a defensive posture from Islamabad, suggesting that further escalation is unlikely.

The ceasefire agreement was reached on May 10, when Pakistan’s DGMO contacted his Indian counterpart, agreeing to halt all military actions—on land, air, and sea—from 5 PM onwards.

Tensions had escalated recently due to border violations and strategic disagreements, prompting this high-level dialogue between the two militaries. While no official statement has been released, insiders suggest that discussions were productive, with agreements on confidence-building measures and continued communication channels.

A press briefing by India’s DGMO, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, is expected later today, where further details may be revealed regarding diplomatic and military strategies moving forward.
