Gaurang Pradhan, a 41-year-old migrant worker from Jamdarah Buda Pani village in Sundaragada, has died suddenly in Goa.
Gaurang had left his native village earlier this week alongside local companions to seek work in Goa. However, shortly after reaching his destination, his physical and mental health deteriorated rapidly. He was immediately rushed to Ratnagiri Hospital in Goa for medical care. Despite treatment, Gaurang breathed his last on Sunday evening.
A co-worker called his family to inform the news. Shocked by his sudden death, relatives left for Goa on Monday night to learn what happened and claim his body.
Gaurang was the sole breadwinner for his family, leaving behind his wife, Sabitri Pradhan, and their 15-year-old son, Suraj Pradhan. His passing has dealt a crushing blow to the family, leaving the entire village in a state of mourning.
Gauranga’s family and villagers have appealed to local officials to help bring his body back to his native village and to provide financial aid to his surviving family.
