In light of the ongoing conflict, the Women and Child Development Department of Odisha has decided to forego the state-level Mother’s Day celebration scheduled for May 11.
The decision reflects a sensitive approach to the prevailing situation in the country, prioritising restraint over festivity. However, the department has ensured that the spirit of the occasion will not be entirely overlooked, as winners of the Mother’s Day selfie contest will be felicitated at the upcoming Subhadra event.
