The Odisha government has approved a five-year extension for two key healthcare initiatives, NIDAAN and Nirmal, aiming to enhance public health facilities and provide free diagnostic services to residents.

The NIDAAN scheme ensures free access to essential diagnostic services, including MRI and CT scans at select hospitals. Over the next five years, the state will allocate ₹2,459 crore to support these services at various healthcare centres.

The Nirmal scheme, with a budget of ₹5,174 crore, focuses on improving hospital services such as linen and laundry management, security, and attendant support. The initiative aims to elevate cleanliness standards in medical facilities while minimising hospital-acquired infections.

With these extensions, the Odisha government continues to prioritise accessible and quality healthcare for its citizens.
