In response to network connectivity challenges in remote areas, the Odisha government has extended the deadline for ration card holders to update their Electronic Know Your Customer (E-KYC) details until March 31, 2025.
This decision aims to address technological barriers and difficulties faced by residents. Efforts are being made to enhance connectivity infrastructure, with network devices to be deployed at 341 locations throughout Odisha.
Reports indicate that 111 locations are struggling with slow network speeds, while 230 locations, mainly Public Distribution System (PDS) centres, have no network connectivity.
The state’s initiative to improve infrastructure is expected to ease E-KYC service access for residents in these significantly impacted areas.
