The Odisha government is set to distribute financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana during a special event on Panchayati Raj Diwas, which will be celebrated on April 24.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that eligible beneficiaries will receive ₹10,000, distributed in two instalments, as part of the scheme’s sixth phase.
Approximately 1.7 lakh women across the state are expected to benefit from this initiative, furthering the government’s commitment to women’s financial empowerment. The scheme, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2024, provides ₹5,000 twice a year directly into the bank accounts of eligible applicants.
During the fifth phase, held on March 6, 2025, a total of 2.3 lakh women received the first instalment of ₹5,000. Beneficiaries who applied for the scheme on or before March 31, 2025, will qualify for the upcoming payment cycle.
Applicants must be between 21 and 60 years old and verify their identity through their Aadhaar card. The scheme aims to strengthen women’s financial independence and provide consistent economic support to households in need.
