Patnagarh: Seven students of Bapuji High School reportedly fall unconscious after they were made to do sit-ups as punishment in Bolangir district.
According to reports, the girls were asked to do sit-ups as punishment for allegedly reaching late to school for a prayer session. The children fainted soon afterwards and had to be admitted to a nearby hospital.
Following the incident, Patnagarh Community Education Officer Shankar Prasad Majhi has been directed to carry out a probe into the case of punishment to some girl students at Bapuji High School in the Patnagarh area of Bolangir, Education Minister Sameer Dash informed.
