The annual ‘Chaiti Parba’ festival of Maa Tarini commenced today at her sacred shrine in Ghatagaon, located in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, with a massive turnout of devotees marking the beginning of the celebrations.

The revered festival, held during the Chaitra month, witnesses lakhs of pilgrims from across the state and beyond, who arrive to seek the blessings of Maa Tarini, one of the most widely worshipped deities in Odisha.

To ensure a smooth and safe experience for the large crowd, elaborate arrangements have been made by both the temple authorities and the district administration. Measures include crowd management systems, medical aid centers, drinking water facilities, temporary shelters, and enhanced police deployment.

Special rituals and offerings are being conducted throughout the day as the temple premises remain vibrant with chants, devotional songs, and cultural activities. Local volunteers and devotees have also joined hands with the administration to support the smooth execution of the event.

The ‘Chaiti Parba’ not only holds deep religious significance but also showcases the cultural and spiritual spirit of Odisha, drawing thousands of families who have long-standing traditions of visiting the shrine during this auspicious period. The festivities are expected to continue over the next few days with an ever-increasing flow of pilgrims.
