Bhubaneswar: In a major step to enhance air connectivity in Odisha, the State Government has agreed to provide financial support for AirAsia’s direct flight operation between Bhubaneswar and Pune for three months.
The move has been announced through a tweet on the social media handle of the Chief Minister’s Office.
“Apart from improving connectivity, it will give a boost to tourism and investor footfall,” said the CMO.

The state government also informed the airline officials about Odisha’s potential in tourism and other sectors which will augment the flight operations in coming days.
The denizens have long been demanding for direct flights to the IT hubs. The Bhubaneswar to Pune service is expected to take off from January 24 or 25, Civil Aviation Joint Secretary Usha Padhee informed.
