In a sudden administrative movement, the Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Department, Government of Odisha, has directed Shri Rajesh Kumar Mohapatra, ORS, Executive Officer of Asika Municipality in Ganjam district, to report to the department’s headquarters with immediate effect.
The decision was formalized through an official office order issued by the H&UD Department on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
Interim Administrative Arrangements in Ganjam
To prevent any disruption in public service delivery and maintain civil administration within the civic body, temporary charge mechanisms have been authorized:
- Collector Authorized: The Collector and District Magistrate of Ganjam has been empowered to immediately assign additional charge of the Executive Officer post to an eligible district-level officer.
- Service Continuity: The temporary arrangement will remain active until further official postings or orders are communicated by the state government.
