Newly released Air Traffic Control (ATC) audio has revealed the terrifying final moments inside the cockpit of a private Learjet 60 before it nose-dived into a Florida residential neighborhood on Sunday, November 1, 2026, killing all nine people on board.

The aircraft, registered under tail number N722BD, was en route from Austin, Texas, to Freeport in the Bahamas when it plunged out of the sky near a mobile home park in Greenacres, exploding on impact near Military Trail and 10th Avenue North in Palm Beach County.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed that there were no survivors among the nine passengers and crew aboard the private jet.

Cockpit Audio Captures Extreme Descent and Mechanical Struggle

Audio recordings captured the exchange between the flight crew and air traffic controllers as a routine flight quickly spiraled into a catastrophic emergency.

Initially, the flight crew reported moderate turbulence and atmospheric icing at an outside temperature of minus 47 degrees Celsius while requesting a altitude change for smoother air. Moments later, the situation turned critical:

“722 Bravo Delta… we’re descending 8,000—Mayday, Mayday! We’re descending 10,000 feet per minute!” the pilot frantically radioed.

As cockpit warning alarms blared in the background, the pilot reported that the aircraft was overspeeding and accelerating downward at 20,000 feet per minute while banking heavily at 60 degrees.

The controller attempted to guide the vessel, offering any altitude clearance and stating, “I’m here with you. Talk to me.”

The crew reported a terminal descent rate of 22,000 feet per minute. The pilot radioed, “We’re going to crash into the ground, 722 Bravo Delta,” followed by panicked shouts of “Look outside… Holy f–k, we’re out of time!” before communications went silent.

Emergency Response and NTSB Investigation

Emergency services, including the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and local fire departments, closed surrounding roadways and extinguished massive blazes at the crash site, located just a few miles from Palm Beach International Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have initiated a joint investigation into the crash to determine whether atmospheric icing, structural failure, or instrument malfunction caused the loss of control. Official identities of the nine victims have not yet been released.
