President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled three-day visit to Odisha starting November 3 has been cancelled, marking the second time her travel plans to the state have been deferred in recent days.
The news of the cancellation was officially confirmed by the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district. President Murmu was slated to attend multiple official functions and visit her hometown region during the three-day tour.
This comes shortly after her previously scheduled two-day visit on October 28 was postponed due to safety precautions surrounding severe weather conditions caused by Cyclonic Storm ‘Arnab’. Local authorities in Mayurbhanj had made extensive arrangements for her reception and official engagements in Rairangpur before receiving instructions regarding the deferment.
Further details regarding the rescheduled dates for the President’s visit are awaited from the President’s Secretariat and state administrative officials.
