Severe flooding along the railway tracks between Ichhapuram and Jhadupudi has thrown train operations into disarray, leading to the complete cancellation of nine major trains and the rerouting of fourteen others.
The disruption, driven by relentless water accumulation on the tracks, has severely impacted connectivity between Odisha and neighbouring regions.
Among the high-profile services affected is the Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express, which has been officially cancelled for the day. Other notable cancellations include the Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad, the Brahmaputra-Visakhapatnam Passenger, the Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express, and the Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express. Additionally, the return Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express is slated for cancellation.
Railway authorities are closely monitoring the situation as water levels recede, working around the clock to ensure tracks are safe before resuming normal operations. Passengers are strongly advised to check their train status before heading to the station and to utilise alternative transit options until full restoration is achieved.
