To ensure a hassle-free and disciplined pilgrimage experience for millions of Lord Jagannath devotees, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan personally inspected the ongoing construction of the special queue-based Darshan system at the iconic Srimandir in Puri.
Accompanied by key state officials, the Minister visited the project site to evaluate the progress of the infrastructure, barricading, and shade facilities being built by the Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation (OBCC).
Strict Timelines for Construction
During the on-site inspection, Minister Harichandan reviewed the structural arrangements designed to regulate crowd flow inside and around the temple premises. Emphasising the importance of timely execution, he instructed the OBCC and administrative authorities to complete the remaining construction work strictly within the designated deadline.
“Our core objective is to make the Darshan experience smooth, secure, and well-organised for every single devotee visiting the holy shrine,” stated the Law Minister.
What the New Queue System Offers
The special queue management infrastructure aims to eliminate overcrowding, reduce waiting times, and provide better queue management during peak festivals and daily rituals:
-
Organised Barricading: Streamlined entry and exit lanes to prevent congestion.
-
All-Weather Comfort: Covered barricades to protect pilgrims from harsh weather conditions.
-
Better Accessibility: Designated pathways ensuring smoother movement for elderly devotees and children.
Once fully operational, the revamped queue system is expected to significantly enhance the overall experience for pilgrims travelling from across the globe to seek the blessings of the Holy Trinity.
