BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan has found himself at the center of a viral social media storm after a slip of the tongue during a political attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi captured the internet’s attention.
While attempting to mock the Leader of Opposition over an alleged video showing him elbowing a party worker during a recent protest march in New Delhi, the Gorakhpur MP made a verbal slip that online users quickly seized upon.
’Jab Aap PM Banoge…’
Speaking to media persons regarding the controversy, Kishan remarked:
”Kitna dukhad hai ki apne karyakartaaon ko woh kohni maar rahe hain. Aap Pradhan Mantri banne ja rahe ho aur aap abhi se kohni maar rahe ho apne karyakartaaon ko (It is unfortunate that he is elbowing his own party workers. You are going to become the Prime Minister, but you are already elbowing your own workers).”
Kishan doubled down on the theme, repeatedly utilizing the word kohni (elbow) and coining the phrase “kohinibaaz Prime Minister” to question Gandhi’s leadership style.
”If you ever become Prime Minister, how many elbows will you throw at the country?” Kishan asked, arguing that political leaders should not treat grassroots workers with disrespect while pursuing high office.
Social Media Amplifies Slip of the Tongue
Despite Kishan’s intention to critique the Congress leader’s behavior, social media users quickly reframed the MP’s phrasing “Jab aap PM banoge…” into humor and online commentary.
Within hours of the video circulating, netizens flooded platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) with memes and lighthearted reactions:
- Online Reactions: Users jokingly thanked the BJP MP for “predicting” Gandhi’s future, with several calling the clip a “new meme unlocked.”
- Political Context: The original controversy stemmed from footage shared by BJP-aligned social media handles purportedly showing Gandhi clearing space through a crowd during a demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar earlier in the week.
While political rivalries across the national capital remain tense amidst ongoing protests, Kishan’s unintended phrasing has provided a brief moment of humor across digital feeds.
