Odisha Yatri, the State’s revolutionary technology-enabled mobility platform, is gearing up to showcase its fast-growing ecosystem and citizen-centric innovations at the prestigious 19th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Expo 2026.
Hosted in Bhubaneswar under the theme “Urban Accessibility & Liveability in the Digital Age,” this marks a historic milestone as Odisha becomes the first State in Eastern India to host the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ (MoHUA) flagship annual event.
Pioneering Safety and Digital Integration
Odisha Yatri is rewriting the rules of urban transit by becoming the first platform in India to integrate seamless mobility with advanced citizen safety services. The newly launched Safety Module, seamlessly integrated with Odisha Police and the national emergency response system 112, bridges the gap between digital transit and public protection.
Available on both iOS and Android, the module packs 11 robust safety features—including Shake to Alert, live location sharing, alarms, emergency contact access, and a One-Tap SOS facility connected to helpline 112. Having already rolled out to approximately 1.86 lakh users, the platform proves that smart technology can actively protect citizens on the move.
Rapid Growth and a Fair-Play Model
Since its inception, Odisha Yatri has achieved remarkable milestones:
-
Impressive Reach: Registered 6.34 lakh users and enabled 18.6K drivers across five cities.
-
Milestone Trips: Successfully completed 10 lakh trips, peaking in January 2026 with 60,000 trips generated from 3.28 lakh ride searches.
-
Empowering Drivers: Generated Rs 15.5 crore in earnings for drivers through a 100% pass-through model, ensuring zero commission is retained by the platform.
Expanding Beyond Ride-Hailing
Odisha Yatri is no longer just a ride-hailing app; it is evolving into a comprehensive digital ecosystem. The platform now facilitates Ama Bus services across four cities and operates scenic boating services at Satapada in strategic partnership with the Dolphin Boat Association.
A Step Toward Viksit Odisha
By hosting UMI 2026, Odisha has a prime platform to present its tech-driven governance models to national and international stakeholders. Odisha Yatri’s journey mirrors the broader vision of Viksit Odisha and Viksit Bharat—proving that innovation, inclusivity, and people-centric design can successfully build safer, greener, and more liveable urban futures.
