Service is the resolve and development is the goal. That was the message State In-charge and National Vice-President D. Purandeswari carried through a two-day Odisha tour that mixed street theatre, organisational stock-taking and a temple visit before her return to Delhi.
On 4 October, she and co-in-charge Dr. Swadesh Singh joined the “Namo Seva Gatha – Pathprant Natak” performance at Jamukoli near Jatani in Khordha district. The roadside play is part of the nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, launched on 17 September to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service. Purandeswari called the format an effective way to take welfare schemes and development work directly to people, saying India is advancing at speed toward Viksit Bharat under Modi’s leadership on the principle that service is the resolve and development the goal.
The programme drew state general secretary (organisation) Manas Kumar Mohanty, minister Suryabanshi Suraj, state general secretary Purnima Nayak, state morcha coordinator Sudipta Ray and Khordha district president Bishwaranjan Badajena, among others.
Earlier, Purandeswari and Singh held meetings at the state office with office-bearers, district presidents and in-charges, and morcha coordinators. They later sat with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and cabinet colleagues to review coordination between the government and the organisation. Discussions covered upcoming programmes, the working of various fronts, and steps to tighten the party at the booth level. The leaders stressed closer public contact and better teamwork among workers, guided by the Prime Minister and national president Nitin Nabin. State president Manmohan Samal and Manas Kumar Mohanty were present.
Before leaving for Delhi, Purandeswari and Singh offered prayers at the Lingaraj temple and sought blessings.
The visit underscored the party’s effort to pair grassroots outreach—through plays that recount the Seva Sankalp theme—with internal strengthening ahead of further organisational drives in the state.
