Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania has urged individuals involved in violence to reintegrate into society while emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order.

His remarks came ahead of a review meeting in Sambalpur on security preparations for Hanuman Jayanti celebrations.

Maoist Threat Diminishing in Odisha
Addressing concerns over Maoist activity, DGP Khurania highlighted that while 21 districts in Odisha were once affected, the number has now declined to seven. However, Maoist movements along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border remain a concern.

“We are committed to wiping out Maoism completely. Search operations are ongoing, and we are witnessing significant success,” he stated.

Security Strategy & Border Vigilance
During his visit, the DGP held discussions with SPs from five districts, reviewing strategies to combat Maoist threats and enhance public safety. He reassured that Odisha Police is closely monitoring border regions, particularly with Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh, and acting on intelligence inputs through targeted operations.

Police Medal Ceremony & Temple Visit
Earlier in the day, DGP Khurania attended the Odisha Police Medal Award Ceremony, honoring personnel under the Northern Range. Before proceeding with official engagements, he also visited the Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur, seeking blessings.

The Odisha Police remains committed to strengthening security measures and ensuring public safety across the state.
