Odisha Assembly revealed that 94,485 posts remain vacant across various government departments as of February 12, 2026.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi shared the figures in response to a question raised by legislator Chakramani Kanhar.
The School and Mass Education Department has the highest number of vacancies with 20,289 posts unfilled. The Home Department follows with 16,032 vacancies, while the Health Department faces a shortage of 10,457 posts.
Between June 12, 2024, and February 12, 2026, the government completed 39,505 recruitments across different departments. Despite these appointments, the large number of vacancies continues to affect administrative efficiency and service delivery.
