Malkangiri police intercepted a container truck near the Champakhari check-post and rescued 81 cows being smuggled from the Nabarangpur district.
Acting on a tip-off during morning patrol, officers from Malkangiri Adarsh police station, led by IIC Rigan Kindo, stopped the vehicle and discovered the animals packed inside.
The driver was immediately detained, and police confirmed that legal action will follow under relevant laws. Authorities are investigating the route and network behind the smuggling operation.
