During the ongoing Odisha Assembly winter session, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik admitted that 5,008 revenue and hamlet villages in the state still lack all-weather road connectivity.
Responding to MLA Arun Sahoo’s question, Naik assured the House that the government is actively working to resolve the issue. He stressed that all revenue villages will soon receive all-weather roads, since construction projects are already underway.
Furthermore, Naik highlighted that in the current financial year alone, the government constructed 2,643 km of roads across Odisha. He emphasised that the administration remains committed to expanding rural infrastructure and ensuring that even the most remote villages gain reliable access.
