Rayagada: A 45-year-old man met with watery grave in a pond near Singaram railway station at Phulajaba village under Tikiri police station limits in Rayagada district.
The deceased person has been identified as Shyam Majhi of Anajor village under Nakatiguda panchayat.
Reportedly, Majhi had gone to take bath in a nearby pond. However, he accidentally slipped into the deep water and drowned.
As Majhi did not return, his family members searched for him but they found his lifeless body floating in the pond.
On intimation, police along with the fire tenders reached the spot and fished out the body from the water. Further investigation is underway into the matter, sources said.
