A mild earthquake of 3.1 magnitude struck the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Monday, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
The tremor occurred at 1:36 AM, with its epicentre near Kishtwar, located at latitude 33.17°N and longitude 75.87°E, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
Officials confirmed that there were no reports of casualties or property damage.
The region, part of the seismically active Himalayan belt, experiences frequent low to moderate intensity quakes. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
